How we choose products
We start from real needs: the questions caregivers, older adults and people with chronic conditions actually ask. Then we look for products that are widely available, have a track record of consistent customer feedback, and come from manufacturers that publish clear specifications and safety information.
What we evaluate
- Safety: stability, weight capacity, non-slip features, certifications where relevant.
- Ease of use: for the person using it and for the person helping them.
- Comfort and dignity: how the product feels day to day and whether it supports independence.
- Durability and care: materials, cleaning and expected lifespan.
- Value: price compared with similar options, warranty and return policy.
Our research sources
Our guides draw on manufacturer specifications, verified customer reviews, guidance from reputable health organizations and, when we have it, our own hands-on experience. We say clearly in each article whether a product was personally tested or researched.
Independence
Brands cannot pay to be included or to get a better rating. Affiliate commissions never affect our conclusions, and we point out drawbacks even for products we recommend.
